What makes an activity therapeutic?
It’s not really the activity itself, but how the components of the activity have been selected to help meet objectives related to client goals. Wherever possible, we use evidence-based interventions (activities that have been scientifically proven to be therapeutic in specific ways).
Activities are skillfully facilitated to ensure that we utilize our client’s strengths and balance the level of challenge with appropriate support to ensure our client is getting the highest level of enjoyment and benefit.
These are just some of the activities that can be used in therapeutic recreation. Activity choices are always guided by individual client goals and preferences, and the options are endless.
